     Elijah Billings was born on 26 February 1749/50 at Stoughton, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, USA.1,3,4 He was the son of Elijah Billings and Elizabeth Hartshorn.1,2 Elijah Billings married Hulda Cobb on 28 September 1771 at Sharon, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, USA.1,3,5 Elijah Billings and Hulda Cobb had seven children; more information on descendants in source.1 The following are the names of the officers & privates of the "minute-men" who marched from the town of Stoughton on receiving the news of the Lexington alarm, on the 19th of April 1775, "made upon that day by the Ministerial troops, and in defence of American liberty": Elijah Billings, Samuel Billings, Jacob Billings, Leavett Billings, Timothy Billings and Ebenezer Billings.
