When the aircraft became overdue in Corsica, Air Sea rescue operations were immediately commenced. Both fighter and aircraft specially equipped for Air Sea rescue work made a thorough search of the whole area. I regret to say, however, that no trace of your Son or his crew could be found, and I can offer no hope of his having been picked up."1 He was a Navigator in the RCAF, with two years spent in the occupation on 28 December 1943.3 He died on 28 December 1943 at At sea at age 25.3,8,4 He is remembered with honour on the Alamein Memorial, Alamein, Egypt.2,4
