In this city, on Thursday December 29, 1892, John Cloyes Tryon, eldest child of Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Tryon, aged 4 years and 4 months.
Everybody about town knew Johny. Sprightly, active, the picture of health, he was noticed by all. He seemed to be everyone’s favorite, and some in their kindness were inclined to tease him, “just for fun.” But the little fellow is gone from us, and his chubby form so familiar to so many on our streets will be missed by others besides father and mother.
This is a severe blow on the parents, Johny being their oldest, and they have the sympathy of the whole community.
Since the above was in type, we have received the following communication.
The funeral services were held at the Baptist church on Friday conducted by Rev. Mr. Frisby. On the account of some of the relatives not arriving in time the burial was postponed until 11 o’clock a. m. Saturday, when little John was laid to rest in the Onaga cemetery. Johny was a bright little fellow and a favorite with all who knew him. His sudden death has caused a gloom over this entire community. The bereaved family have the heartfelt sympathy of their many friends in this hour of affliction.

The evidence for Aurelie Prevost's previous marriage to Moise Gaudreau is pretty strong. Number 1, it occured in Henryville, same place as her later residence with John Billings. Number two, the two older children who appear in the 1861 census in the John Billings household ("Armine" and "Alphonsine") are the names of her surviving children with Gaudreau (born in 1848 and 1851 respectively). The names and dates line up perfectly. They are listed as "Billings" children likely due to the census taker making hasty assumptions, or possibly because they were adopted by their stepfather. Number 3, her date of birth (1830) lines up perfect with her age as enumerated in the 1861 census (31).
