The mitoYDNA Project (Ottawa Branch)
Title: The mitoYDNA Project
Speaker: Mags Gaulden
Details: For years genealogists had the ability to see Y and mtDNA matches, view how they matched each other and were able to see matches from all testing companies. With the GDPR (The General Data Protection Regulations) from the EU that ability disappeared. So, a group of collaborative genetic genealogists set out to create a new database for the genealogy community that is crowdsourced, free and accessible to all. The site is finished and growing consistently with community support. Mags will give us a test drive through the work to set this up and also show us how it works.
There will be a short Annual Meeting of Ottawa Branch prior to Mag’s presentation. Details can be found here.
You are invited to a Zoom meeting.
