Publications

Since 1973, the Ottawa Branch of The Ontario Genealogical Society has produced over 250 publications to assist genealogists and family historians in researching their ancestral roots.

Most of these publications relate to the five counties of Eastern Ontario for which the Branch has particular responsibility: Carleton, Lanark, Renfrew and the United Counties of Prescott and Russell. However, a significant number also cover other counties of Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec.

These publications include cemetery inscriptions and burial records, census records and indexes, vital statistics from local newspapers, parish registers and records, and land, settlement and immigration records.

To ensure the preservation of these records and widen their audience, in 2016, the OGS, on behalf of the Branch, signed an agreement with Global Heritage Publishing [aka Global Genealogy] to assume the role of publishing, advertising and marketing this collection. Consequently, Ottawa Branch has ceased its mail order operations, though its publications will still be sold by the Branch, at sales events, for a limited time.

All of these publications are now available on the Global website which can be accessed by clicking on the link below.
